An exciting opportunity to join a growing investment firm in Orange County as a Billing Supervisor, taking ownership of the end-to-end client billing process within a collaborative finance team. This is a newly impactful role with strong strategic scope, working closely with Finance, Legal and Investment teams to manage complex fee structures, improve billing accuracy and drive automation.
This is a Hybrid role (3 days in office)
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the preparation of accurate and timely billing calculations and invoices based on relevant investment agreements, management contracts, and other relevant documents.
- Perform complex billing calculations and other tasks within the billing process.
- Review billing invoices and calculations prepared by an Analyst.
- Reconcile and analyze fee calculations against underlying investment billing reports, performance summaries, and cash flow details.
- Identify and resolve billing data discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Partner with Finance and internal AI tooling teams to identify and deploy solutions that reduce manual work and improve decision quality across the billing and collections lifecycle.
- Collaborate with various other departments to gather necessary billing information and address any billing-related queries.
- Address client inquiries related to billing and resolve issues in a timely manner, serving as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk billing disputes.
- Own the billing process end-to-end, proactively identifying and implementing automation and systems improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce recurring discrepancies, and scale the billing function to support the firm’s continued growth.
Skills / Qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related course of study.
- Several years of relevant experience in the billing function or other related positions within the finance and accounting field, preferably within an investment management firm.
- Ability to adapt, learn, design and implement new processes, concepts, skills, and technologies.
- Experience in the asset management industry is a strong preference.
- Clear and effective communication skills are necessary to address billing inquiries, resolve disputes, and
- provide explanations regarding billing processes.
